From Yaron Koren: Thanks for the information. Any of those hosting options you listed would be good options. $2,000 per month could be quite a bit more than what's needed, although I suppose it all depends on what you need for customization. Are there any custom features you want for this wiki?

Hi Yaron,

Here are some thoughts in response to your question about custom features I want. I'm committed to MediaWiki as the software engine for my project, A Place to Study, which is a pretty ambitious, long-term effort at transformative innovation in formal and informal education.

For the next few months, say a little after Canasta has moved to the 1.39 LTS MediaWiki, I expect to be concentrating on exploring the uses of the larger extension set for the purposes of A Place to Study. I expect then to start concentrating on developing and implementing customization that will be more unique (at least in original impetus) to the goals of A Place to Study. I'd like to see it serve as a start-to-finish production environment enabling persons and groups, anywhere, anytime, to work meaningfully in pursuit of their creative cultural aspirations.

Realization of this ideal would only come about through a process of emergence that no project could plan to make happen. Think of Google Workspace with G-Drive repalced by
